Coffee Chat: Conversations for North Dakota
Families and Educators
When COVID-19 thrust all of us into remote learning, it also put families in a position to have deeper insights about their children's learning and how we can work together as real partners in learning. To be sure we had the opportunity to learn from a wide range of families, State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler formed the PK-12 Alliance, which brought educators, families, students, and community partners together to conduct interviews with educators, caregivers, and students, taking care to reach those families for whom remote learning was a significant struggle.
The Alliance used a design process that began with a focus on learners and then asked how solutions that are good for learners could be designed so they were also good for families and educators. The result is a set of innovations called the ND Family Partnership Playbook that have the potential to improve the experience of all stakeholders.
No registration, no fee, just meaningful conversation about
how we can all help our students, families, and educators
through true partnerships and deeper understanding. Join: https://tinyurl.com/K12CoffeeChat
Here are a few pictures of Mrs. Nagel’s class with Mrs. Borke on the 100th day of first grade.

Congratulations to Luke Dryburgh for being named to the Class B Academic All-State Honorable Mention team.

It’s fun to see how many seniors get the ND Scholarship every year at HHS. Last year 28 grads qualified. So far 12 (as pictured) have qualified and another one today. $750/semester to a ND college is a great perk for meeting the requirements in high school. Let’s go seniors!! 👏👏 #BurroPride

On Friday the Governor of ND moved Traill County to the green risk level. Although we are at this risk level the school will still maintain their mask policy due to the quarantine rules. Masking has allowed our school to remain open and continue with activities. Thank you students, parents, & staff for your help in this effort to keep everyone safe & healthy. #BurroPride
