E – Learning/Distance Learning - Hillsboro High School Expectations

Expectations for Teachers:

1. Teachers will establish a way to communicate with their students at an established time in the morning of each day. (Example: Be available by email from 8:30am to 11:00am)

2. Teachers will post reflective questions for the students to respond. (No new learning for storm days).

3. During an extended e-learning/distance learning period of time, teachers will monitor their email from 1:00pm – 3:00pm to see if students are asking questions and then respond to those questions. Teachers may also set up an afternoon Zoom session so that students have access to their teacher.

Expectations for Students:

1. Students will log onto Google Classroom and begin working on posted assignments.

2. Students will complete assignments during an e-learning/distance learning period of time.

3. If a student doesn’t engage they will be marked absent.

Expectations for Parents:

1. Parents will make sure students return their devices when the e-learning/distance learning ends

E – Learning/Distance Learning - Hillsboro Elementary School Expectations

Expectations for Teachers:

1.  Teachers will have each student take a device and or packet home in the afternoon before an e-learning day or week is declared.  Teachers may send a packet home that can simply be put on a shelf and used on a future e-learning day.  Each teacher will communicate about what is sent home.

2.  Teachers will record a video, zoom, or have a way to communicate with their students at an established time in the morning of each day or through a note in the packet.

3.  During an extended e-learning/distance learning period of time, teachers will monitor their email from 1:00 – 3:00 to see if students are asking questions and then respond to those questions or teachers will set up an afternoon Zoom session so that students have access to their teacher.

Expectations for Students:

1.  Students will attend the zoom session or watch the video before they begin working.

2.  Students will complete assignments during an e-learning/distance learning period of time.

Expectations for Parents:

1.  Parents will make sure students return their devices and packets/assignments when the e-learning/distance learning ends.

2.  Parents will read with their children daily.
