DID YOU KNOW?
All students in grades K-6 receive enrichment activities called "What I Need" Time each day. This is when some of our first graders are reading third grade level books and some of our fifth graders are reading seventh grade level books. This is also when students that struggle are getting extra practice decoding multi-syllabic words, phonemic awareness, or even the Barton System to help with dyslexia. WIN Time is an excellent example of differentiation at the elementary level. If your child needs something different today, have them go into IXL and work on algebra. IXL is an example of an enrichment opportunity on the math side of things. Third graders are currently trying to get fast enough to beat Mr. Dryburgh in multiplication fact speed. Today would be a great day to work on that as well. Tomorrow, ask your child what they did during WIN time.

Hillsboro School and buses will be 2 hours late today, Tuesday, February 27th.
